Keenan Wynn

Francis Xavier Aloysius James Jeremiah Keenan Wynn noto semplicemente come Keenan (New York City, 27 luglio 1916 – Los Angeles, 14 ottobre 1986) è stato un attore statunitense.

La famiglia di Keenan Wynn apparteneva per tradizione al mondo della show business. Suo padre, l’attore di origine ebraica Ed Wynn, era celebre nel mondo della commedia vaudeville, mentre sua madre, di origini irlandesi, Hilda Keenan meat tenderizers natural, aveva scelto come primo nome per il figlio il cognome del padre, Frank Keenan, uno dei primi attori di Broadway a ottenere successo nella mecca del cinema bpa free drink bottles.

Dopo aver studiato alla St. John’s Military Academy, su incoraggiamento del padre, Keenan Wynn intraprese la carriera di attore, studiando e recitando nella compagnia della Maine Stock Company ed i due apparvero insieme nel telefilm di Rod Serling Ai confini della realtà (episodio Requiem for a Heavyweight) ed in seguito nello sceneggiato tv The Man in the Funny Suit dove Keenan Wynn interpretava sé stesso raccontando la storia delle sue peripezie.

Nel 1942 venne scritturato dalla Metro Goldwyn Mayer per la quale esordì nel 1944 sul grande schermo con la pellicola See Here Private Hargrove del regista Tay Garnett dove interpretava il ruolo di sergente che gli fece guadagnare la simpatia del pubblico. Nel 1945 interpretò lo stesso personaggio in un’altra pellicola, Al caporale piacciono le donne, che gli aprì la strada ad una brillante carriera cinematografica negli anni quaranta, in film quali L’ora di New York di Vincente Minnelli e Senza amore al fianco di Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn e Lucille Ball.

Il suo successo professionale causò le gelosie del padre, che d’inverso stava subendo una fase discendente, tuttavia i due si riavvicinarono anche professionalmente negli anni cinquanta quando Ed Keenan visse una seconda fase di successo proponendosi come attore drammatico, cercando spesso il sostegno morale e professionale del figlio. La carriera di Keenan Wynn ebbe il suo apice negli anni sessanta, durante i quali divenne una figura di spicco nelle pellicole Disney, quali Un professore fra le nuvole e Un professore a tutto gas e partecipò alla celebre pellicola di Stanley Kubrick Il dottor Stranamore, nel ruolo del Colonnello “Bat” Guano.

Dopo gli anni settanta Wynn si interessò alla televisione, e iniziò a recitare in serie televisive quali il celebre Dallas nelle stagioni 1979-1980, nel ruolo di Digger Barnes. Durante la fase discendente della sua carriera, visse grossi problemi di alcoolismo, che in seguito minarono pesantemente la sua salute. Ciò non gli impedì tuttavia di diventare membro di diverse associazioni filantropiche, tra le quali la Sertoma International. Morì di cancro nel 1986 all’età di 70 anni.

Dal 1941 al 1947 Keenan Wynn è stato sposato con Eve Lynn Abbott, che divorziò dall’attore per unirsi in matrimonio con un altro grande attore hollywoodiano di quell’epoca, Van Johnson. I suoi figli hanno continuato la tradizione artistica di famiglia, infatti Tracy Keenan Wynn è uno sceneggiatore e regista, e tra le sue produzioni sono da annoverare la sceneggiatura di Quella sporca ultima meta di Robert Aldrich e Detective Harper: acqua alla gola di Stuart Rosenberg. Un altro dei suoi figli, Ned Keene, attore e scrittore, è autore di una biografia del padre dal titolo We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills.

Deion Jones (* 4. November 1994 in New Orleans, Louisiana) ist ein US-amerikanischer American-Football-Spieler auf der Position des Middle Linebackers. Derzeit spielt er für die Atlanta Falcons in der National Football League (NFL).

Jones ging auf die High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Später ging er auf die Louisiana State University.

Боровно — деревня в Великолукском районе Псковской области России. Входит в состав сельского поселения «Пореченская волость» cycling water bottles.

Расположена на юге волости на берегу реки Ловать (юго-западнее озера Урицкое), в 46 км к югу от райцентра Великие Луки и в 7 км к югу от волостного центра Поречье.

Численность населения деревни составляет на 2000 год 9 жителей, на 2010 год — 19 жителей.

До 2005 года деревня входила в состав ныне упразднённой Урицкой волости.

Ninotchka Rosca

Ninotchka Rosca (born 1946, in the Philippines) is a Filipina feminist, author, journalist and human rights activist who is active in AF3IRM , the Mariposa Center for Change, Sisterhood is Global and the initiating committee of the MARIPOSA ALLIANCE (Ma-Al), a multi-racial, multi-ethnic women’s activist center for understanding the intersectionality of class, race and gender oppressions, toward a more comprehensive practice of women’s liberation. As a novelist, Rosca was a recipient of the American Book Award in 1993 for her novel Twice Blessed.

Rosca has two novels, two short story collections and four non-fiction books. Her novel “State of War” is considered a classic account of ordinary people’s dictatorship. She is a classic short story writer. Her story “Epidemic” was included in the 1986 “100 Short Stories in the United States by Raymond Carver and in the Missouri Review collection of their Best Published Stories in 25 Years, while “Sugar & Salt” was included in the Ms Magazines Best Fiction in 30 Years.

She is also the author of the best-selling English language novels State of War and Twice Blessed. The latter won her the 1993 American Book Award for excellence in literature. Her most recent book is JMS: At Home In The World, co-written with the controversial Jose Maria Sison, who has been included in the U bpa free drink bottles.S. list of “terrorists”.

Rosca was a political prisoner under the dictatorial government of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines. She was forced into exile to Hawaii, United States when threatened with a second arrest for her human rights activism by the Marcos regime. Rosca was designated as one of the 12 Asian-American Women of Hope by the Bread and Roses Cultural Project. These women were chosen by scholars and community leaders for their courage, compassion and commitment in helping to shape society. They are considered role models for young people of color personalized football socks, who, in the words of Gloria Steinem, “have been denied the knowledge that greatness looks like them.”

Rosca has worked with Amnesty International and the PEN American Center. Rosca was also a founder and the first national chair of the GABNet, the largest and only US-Philippines women’s solidarity mass organization, which has evolved into AF3IRM. She is the international spokesperson of GABNet’s Purple Rose Campaign against the trafficking of women, with an emphasis on Filipinas.

She attended the University of the Philippines and lives in Queens borough of New York City. Her lecture schedules are managed by Speak Out Now. A huge fan of science fiction, Rosca reads four books a week (three “light,” one “heavy”).

She was at the United Nations’ Fourth World Conference on Women which took place in Beijing, China, and at the UN’s World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna, Austria. At the latter, she drafted the Survivors Statement, signed by four Nobel Prize winners and hundreds of former prisoners of conscience. This statement first applied the phrase “modern day slavery” to the traffic of women. It was in Vienna as well where the slogan “women’s rights are human rights” gained international prominence; Rosca had brought it from the Philippine women’s movement and helped launch it internationally.

Rosca was press secretary of the The Hague International Women’s Tribunal on Japan’s WWII Military Sex Slavery which convicted Japan’s wartime era leadership for creating and using the Comfort Women. Rosca is particularly concerned with the origins of women’s oppression and the interface between class, race and gender exploitation, so that women can move toward greater theory building and practice of a comprehensive genuine women’s liberation. She often speaks on such issues as sex tourism, trafficking, the mail-order bride industry, and violence against women, and the labor export component of globalization under imperialism.

Rosca’s Canadian fans call her “The First Lady of Philippine Literature.”[citation needed] She is currently a correspondent for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the most widely read broadsheet in the Philippines running belt pouch.
